EM-POWER DUNLAP | Small Community Event

Fresno Energy Watch 2017


In celebration of Energy Awareness Month Fresno Energy Watch (FEW) partnered with Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig and Dunlap Elementary School to facilitate the EM – POWER DUNLAP Small Community Event. The event was held on September 28th at Dunlap Elementary School during its Back to School Night celebration.

The event brought a  variety of public service  agencies  and energy efficiency resources to the underserved community. 500 people attended the event where residents received valuable information about energy efficiency and savings programs, law enforcement and health care resources including immunizations at  no-cost from the Fresno County Public Health Department.

The celebration included the participation of Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig, Fresno County EDC President/CEO Lee Ann Eager (all the way from Spain), EDC Chief Operating Officer Nikki Newsome, PG&E Senior Manager Public Affairs Anna Brooks and Dunlap Elementary School Principal Keith Merrihew who received event attendees with welcoming remarks. More than 20 organizations participated including Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (EOC), Fresno County Sheriff’s Department, County of Fresno

Community Development,  Clean  Energy Tune Up (CETU), Richard  Heath  and Associates (RHA), Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), Fresno  County Public Library, Fresno County Public Health Department, California State University, Fresno – Mobile Health Unit, Dunlap Elementary School, Cal Fire, Fresno Community Food Bank and Fresno Economic Development Corporation (EDC), among others.




The event concluded with a food distribution to event attendees and donated by the Fresno Community Food Bank.
